6 Self-Care Tips for Fall

Part of looking and feeling your best is practicing self-care. And this self-care is especially important in the fall as we head into winter when days get shorter and more of us begin to experience the blues. So how can you care for yourself this fall season?

Here are the top tips to take care of yourself during this time…

#1 – Take a walk

One of the best things about fall is the beautiful weather and gorgeous changing leaves. So why not get out in nature more often to enjoy the crisp air and the beautiful fall hues? As an added bonus, the sunlight you get helps to regulate your body clock, so that you can rest well when your head hits the pillow each night.

#2 – Find your confidence

Even though it can be tempting for those of us working from home to stay in our pajamas as the weather gets cooler, dressing up is a great way to practice self-care and feel confident and attractive.

This can mean buying that new outfit you saw online, investing in new cosmetics that lift your look and your spirits, or simply popping on a pair of dangly earrings.

#3 – Relax in a bath

There might be no better way to leave the cares of the day behind than relaxing in a warm bath before bedtime. To truly create a spa-like experience, light some of your favorite candles and add a few drops of an essential oil, mixed with a carrier (like almond oil), to let the scent carry you away.

Perfect fall oils to try include Clove, Sweet Orange, Balsam, Rosemary and Lavender.

#4 – Enjoy a warm drink

Oh fall and the pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider you bring! To care for yourself, simply sit back, enjoy a warm drink and relax in the cozy scent of fall on the air.

#5 – Eat well

Fall has so many delicious fruits and vegetables that every day can be a baking day. Fruits and veggies that make autumn so perfect:

  • Apple
  • Cinnamon
  • Figs
  • Pomegranates
  • Pumpkin
  • Squash
  • Sweet potato

For natural sweetness, try adding maple syrup to your baking plans.

#6 – Practice skincare

Skincare might be one of the easiest and best ways to practice self-care. Try an exfoliating mask to whisk away dead surface cells and reveal glowing skin and follow with a rich moisturizing cream to lock in hydration. And with the cold air on the way, don’t forget to care for your body, especially the delicate skin of your hands with an Intense Body SoufflΓ© to protect and nourish your skin from head to toe.

Happy fall!

Self-care can be anything you want. The point is to simply take the time for yourself that you need to recharge and enjoy the season.
